BROKEN MAN
I sat there...playing the episodes
And now I'm trying to go through the reruns
She was the tallest at heart
My Olympus
Which is all shatters on the ground
Unable to salvage any remnants of us
She could move my mountain or die trying
Could she be the product
Of all the bad choices I've made??
I've burnt my pride
Fellow boys...you feel me?
My heart betrayed my mind
Like a cast through the shadows
I sit here and think of the pecks
Watching my drowning ship
I cant chop it all off...Damn!
I gave her a million chances than just subsistence
Goddamn my dreams of watching her
Walking down the aisle
Whereafter we could have a story of us
She had my 'nuclear launch codes'
Exploded my missiles without awareness
But the words of my late father;
"Stiffen your upper lip,son".
Figures of her on my wall
Traces of her scent on my woolen scarf
Our wine...recall of all the toasts
About a forever-us...all dead
It wouldn't hurt her much
If she heard that i bonked with a damsel
I doubt if she would feel hapless
I'll see her in pictures as i always had
Hear my boys say they like her
I'll take another pill and smile
Oh my word, heart and mind too
Lets sweep all that under the rug
And finger hold as we wait for luck
My stars and moon are real...
Of the heavens
I humbly lower the arm i always gave for her
All we stood for ,turned to spite me
As the sky darkens, my life flashes
Memories will creep in
I pray they be murky flashbacks
Oh...slideshows of my life.
