MY DARKLAND

MY DARKLAND
Pages that needed an eraser
Sanity that pleaded for a mind
Of weak wires and lines
That led to broken connections
I saw darkness and murky shadows
Of ghosts and spirit winds

I still read the writings
On the broken walls
Of the cracks I fit in a little
To build a name and a life
Couldn't get a color from the spectra

Faded strength
I ride through cities
Daylight through hometowns
To dark clouds and dull stars
A reverse of my wheels
To pick up the sacred past

I will unkiss the lips
Read from the back pages
Start from sunset to sunrise
And sing lyrics in rewind
Empty this pocket of wicked man thought

All's that's lost and shaken
Will be found and taken
I will bring the dead child to be born
Let it feel air and its heart beat
In its empty house to suckle future into it

"I left the stage in the middle of my song...
Mockingbird's message of a tune not heard of
And chirps of other fellows
I see...eyes full of disdain"

My Cathedral collapsed!
That morning broke me
Am sorry Mama
I could come back on bended knees
I beseech thee
And for the faults in my stars

Holy One
I would entreat for a weak soul
Between rocks and icebergs
Sunken eyes that don't see faith
Fragile heart that don't feel pain

And as I hold this blunt pencil
Bleeding words I still hold in
The color of my blood is all I see
I break the chains
I see the sniper
We both want to scare away the dark
I smile. I smile. I smile.
